Ze geven het welzijn van de dieren voorrang. Dit was voor ons ook echt een must. Ze hebben het voeren van de olifanten zo ingepland dat dit op een redelijk natuurlijke manier kan. De liefde voor de dieren is in alles terug te zien. Zo hebben ze echt oog voor het karakter van elk dier en hebben hier een levenswijze op aangepast! Your journey begins at the Hidden Forest Elephant Reserve in Chalong, where you'll be greeted with a complimentary tea or coffee amidst the serene forest setting. The visit starts with an informative presentation about elephant protection and rehabilitation, followed by a brief safety talk.
You'll have the opportunity to feed the elephants respectfully before joining a guided forest walk. There, you'll learn about each elephant's background and unique traits. The tour continues to bamboo observation huts overlooking the valley and Big Buddha, where you can observe the elephants in their natural habitat.
The reserve is home to diverse wildlife, including butterflies, dragonflies, and various bird species. Your visit concludes with a vegetarian or vegan Thai buffet lunch at the forest restaurant, with views of elephants roaming nearby. Every visit supports elephant rescue efforts and raises awareness for these endangered animals. Since opening in 2023, the reserve has expanded from four to eight rescued elephants.
