What to expect

This exclusive tour explores Tenerife's most dramatic inland areas. You'll venture in an eight-seater minivan through the otherworldly landscapes of Teide National Park, admire the panoramas from countless viewpoints and visit the ridge-top hamlet of Masca. Plus, there's traditional Canarian lunch on the menu, too. Arianne, one of our expert local guides, say, "I love guiding this tour because it's an overdose of nature, focusing on the island's volcanology, from the past to the present."

Your adventure kicks off by heading south into Teide National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – climbing through a dense pine forest. There's a pit stop at Chirche viewpoint, which often overlooks cloud-shrouded terrain below. The scenery around here is still bursting with greenery. But as we journey deeper into the national park, you'll encounter volcanic landscapes that could easily be on the moon, Venus or Mars. Desolate, rock-strewn badlands. A stop at Roques de Garcia allows you to take some pics near these iconic rock formations, with the volcano's cone in the background.

Grab a last look at the lava-scarred landscapes at Poleos viewpoint before dropping into a family-run restaurant for a lunch made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Rounding off the day is a visit to Masca – a hard-to-reach hamlet perched on a ridge in a deep volcanic gorge. Enjoy free time to poke around and take in the vistas.

Carla are driver and team Ivon lovely, could have had one less stop & food earlier. The food wasn't nice or worth the money vegetarian option was awful and omelette so salty served with hot vegetable. One suggestion is a buffet so people can choose there own food.I felt like my meal was a last minute option even though told,if asked by tui staff for maybe what the customer could suggest.Mount Teide was amazing.

A fantastic trip all round! We had Ivan as our guide and he was absolutely brilliant, very informative and spoke English very well. We felt completely safe, even on the twisty mountain roads to Masca. Breathtaking views of Teide and so much more, I would definitely recommend this experience.

Our guide Ivan was absolutely amazing, very informative, charming and funny. We got to see the different micro-climates around the island. As well as getting to see all the different rock formations, obsidian and all the different plants that have adapted to survive. We also got to enjoy local food which bought the day to a a pleasant end.
